(I suspect many women who worked through hard labour would prefer that kind of birth-giving! But the implications regarding who FATHERED these kids and HOW, all while she was asleep, are somewhat disturbing!)

I laughed so hard at this... and then realized that yeah, that does sound really creepy.

I've been watching Star Trek: Voyager and there was a scene where one of the crew was giving birth and they were all waiting anxiously (first baby born on the ship). The young ensign remarks that it's been six hours and how long does this take! Tuvok then comments that his wife was in labor for 96 hours with their last child, which is just insane. That poor woman!
