I am happy to hear they have worked out a way for you to work with the kids safely. I feel like everything is changing so quickly and we are all running to catch up.

Here for me, nothing changed. I am considered 'an essential' so I had work, although almost all of my friends didn't.

I am a telecommunicator/corrections officer.
I work at the Police department, answer phones and 911 calls, send Police, fire, or ambulance, monitor radio channels, coordinate with the local clinics and the court house. Along with jail stuffs and a thousand and one little things. You know, essential...

I hate the mask too. I avoid everyone except a very small group of people. 10 or less. But the chances of any of us having covid is so small it doesn't trouble me. And I maintain a distance of 6 feet from everyone. Its just safer that way.

Do find chances to distance and take the mask off, but be careful not to touch it too much, or after touching the mask do NOT touch your face. That is a huge spreader. (I am sure you know that already but I just have to remind people of it.)

Yeah. We were quite surprised that liquor stores were deemed 'essential' but after talking it over, a true alcoholic can die if he/she doesn't get the substance so we could see that one... But the Pot shop? really?

Yes kids can carry and pass so many germs. So so many! I can see why you would be worried about that.
A true introvert then? I like to stay home but don't order me too? I am that way too. I always feel left out in large groups and office parties. One on one I'm fine though. I do like to go out and do things though. Summer is so short here, then its raining or snowing or some such which makes it harder to do much more than walk the dog or go to work...
Dare I ask? Do you still have your rotti? I seem to recall you were the other rot owner on the old forum? But I could be wrong...

I also seem to be the pet magnet in the family. My mother's male cat? Already went to be my lap cat right on his first day. My mother's female cat, 2 years later as company for him and supposed cuddle mate for my mother? Same. They sometimes just have no sense who's *supposed* the be their main person! So it was kinda natural that as of last year, I inherited both.

Essential work ... well, apparently providing software for a couple of banks, insurances, large groceries ... makes our company "essential", too. And since our boss does not believe that *anyone* really works when in home office, we still have to come to office no matter how locked down everything else might be. I'm also quite introvert, but I do miss cinema.

Oh Weezee I am sorry you lost her. I wept bitter tears when I had to put my Female rotti down. I was outside the vets office weeping and this angel walked up to me... I was sitting in a little miserable hump, and a woman who had gotten off a cruise ship came up, put her arms around me and asked 'Is everything ok hon?' I told her I was having my dog put to sleep and she said she had to do that with hers the month before. Then she sat with me and hugged me for half an hour. It was the sweetest thing... Free Baby (my girl rotti) was my soulmate. I miss her terribly.
I have a male rotti now. He's an idiot. The worst of the worst. He wants to chase cars and he takes food and etc. He also is a rescue dog. His name is Taser. (I do work in a pd after all LOL) He is 10 and I have had him for 9 years. His bad habits came with him and I have not been able to break them. (UGH). When he dies I will see if our local animal shelter can help me track down another female rotti. Unfortunately they only live about 12 years.
Your two dogs now sound fun. Didn't Frazier's dad have a jack russel? If I wasn't such a rotti fan I would go with that or a yorkie. Those two breeds looked so fun!
Hey Flederfalle! Yes pets pick who they love and we often have no say in it. When my son was little all his 'pets' ended up in my bed. Until we pulled an emaciated cat from under our home. She spend 3 months on his heat blanket recovering. Almost dead, so skinny you could wrap your thumb and index finger around her. After that she didn't want anything to do with me. Which was great. We called her 'his little wife.' She would sit at the door and howl when he left. And oh lord he didn't dare lock her outside the bathroom. She bossed him and was only happy if he was with her. But she had internal damages from her starvation. I spent over 3000 trying to save her. Lots of flights to the vet and nothing worked. Sadly she left him in the spring of 2017. And he left me and moved out in the fall of 2017.
Your boss sounds like someone who doesn't trust his employees. It would be hard to work for them. I don't think I would like it at all.
My boss is ok 95 percent of the time. The rest I am either suspicious or she is actually correct and I am wrong... Unfortunately during those times I am unable to go verify what she accuses me of so I don't know... which drives me crazy. I hate to think she isn't telling the truth, but I also know that she is wrong about certain events in my heart. Its only a matter of time before she quits again though. So I will hang tough and wait.

Ohhhhh they are so cute. Those big ears and beautiful eyes. I just want to hug and kiss them.
And yes wait to get a new dog until they are gone. That way there won't be any fights for attention.
