Stressful day today. Mary is having major surgery on her neck today. They are removing 2 discs, replacing them with cadaver bone, putting a titanium cage around the vertebrae, and putting in a plate and screws .

Thanks @Yeladim , she did well and is back in her room. In a lot of pain, but now they gave her morphine and she's doing better.

Good to hear the surgery went well. Always scary even when the doctors consider it "minor".

The only problem they had was they couldn't put the screws or plate in that was planned, her bones are too soft. I'm assuming she has osteoporosis. But they said that not being able to do these things wasn't a big deal, it is preferred but not necessary. She should be discharged today, she's going to her daughter's for a week.

Yes he's still here. He's pretty depressed and cranky, but things are going fine for the most part. Thank you for the prayers, they are very much appreciated!!

We had a great weekend. Got a couple of walks around the neighborhood in, washed the car, finished up laundry, cleaned the cat spit-up. And had a nice long conversation with our son in Texas. It looks like he'll have some time off in the summer to come visit for a week or so. Horray! Someone to clean the grill after we use it. :X

It's the day we remember our war dead, and remembering that they made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
