What is your favorite thing about Halloween???

So, there's a wonderful event going on that I'm watching live over on twitch. Stephen Georg's Extra Life. They have EVERY SINGLE title released in North America for the Gamecube, WII, and WIIU, and you can donate money to have them played. Money gets pooled, and top entry every 30 minutes gets played. They do this at roughly this time each year, and the community is wonderful

My favorite things about Halloween are dressing up, and handing out candy/treats. (Sucks I can't do that at home, live to far in the woods)

We're out in no-whereville too, but it's kinda nice, because it means no leftover candy to deal with, since I'm a chocolate snob and the popular stuff I can't stand.

That's quite interesting. I have never understood watching someone else play a game. I would so rather play myself, but I've seen a lot of people enjoy it!

Dressing up sure is mine. :3 And I don't hand out at home, as we normally don't have the extra money to buy candy/treats for a lot of kiddos, but I love giving treats to my kiddos on the bus.

Part of the fun is that you get to watch with dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of other people, cheering on or making commentary and talking with the players. It's kind of like when you would sit on the couch watching someone either really good at a game or REALLY bad at it as they play, but with a LOT more people on the couch.

It depends on the game. For some games, you really *don't* want to play, and you thank the poor streamer for their service. Because it's a bad game, but entertainingly bad, so long as you aren't fighting the controls yourself.

My favorite part is the influx of horror movies I can watch. Decorating my house is a close second as I have a bunch of gothic themed things I place on the banister. This year I managed to buy some raven decorations to add to it. I also enjoy seeing my daughter dress up and go trick or treating. Last year we found a neighborhood that goes ALL OUT for Halloween. I mean there was a house with a full sized ship hull you can walk in and it was decorated with all sorts of pirate things, someone had a haunted walk around their house, most of the people were just sitting out on their driveways with a portable fireplace going because there were so many kids. This neighborhood was super upscale too so a few of the families were giving away king sized candy.

We're going again this year and my dad and two half brothers are coming.

I've seen a lot of posts online where people have Gloom Spawn from Tears of the Kingdom on their lawns, and I will say, great choice.

We don't really celebrate it here in Germany so my favourite part is that the day AFTER is a day off (public holiday!)

That sounds so awesome! I actually had something similar when I was younger. I miss that, I don't know if that neighborhood does it anymore. I would probably guess not as those people have probably passed or are far too old now.

i love halloween! i like the dressing up, the black cats and witches..... and that i can buy witchy things and people don't look at me funny! (says the Pagan )

Since in France Halloween is mostly regarded as a children and commercial festivity, and is not really a thing (yet?), what I enjoy most is watching Tim Burton's movies and some Doctor Who episodes (I'm not much into scary movies, so... ).
But this year I have new neighbors with young children, so I'm ready in case they'll celebrate it : I have candies and chocolate, and clothes that could pass as "witchy" ready to be used !

And the day after is La Toussaint (All Saints' Day), which is a national holiday. Most families goes around this time of the year to wash the graves and put fresh flowers on them, showing care and respect for the deceased.

I would definitely say dressing up is my fav part about Halloween. I do love getting to hang out with friends and go to various places in our costumes if they offer a freebie if you are dressed up. This year it will just be a get together with one of my coworkers and do some Diamond Dotting beforehand and hand out candy. Then walk around her neighborhood if she's able and check out everyone's decorations. Then we are going to watch some movies.
It sounds like we are going to be in for a chilly Halloween here however not that I will not appreciate that with my inflatable shark costume.
