Just make your own word count widget *points to sig*, I did one last year already and even tho it is a manual one, it's fun and motivating to update it daily
I am doing a smooth NaNoWriMo this year, not stressing myself with puffer filling or hitting milestones early, just caring for the daily minimum. Feels way relaxter than usual and also takes some stress away from my roommate, who walks on tip-toes and tries not to disturb me in any way and is always cheering as soon as I show him thumbs-up-I-reached-my-daily LOL

I had some appointments eat up my first two days (though I managed to squeeze in some words for the midnight kickoff, at least), but was super satisfied to get all caught up yesterday. Today I'm struggling with my motivation again. Once more I find myself in that situation that always comes along at some point during November, where I've procrastinated all evening, and suddenly midnight is veeery close, and I haven't put a single word down on paper

Crossed 21k today. Very tired. Very proud.

Well, in about an hour and a half I managed to get 3388 words down, so now I'm actually caught up again despite writing nothing yesterday! Got in my final word count update at 1,5 mins before midnight, so that was definitely down to the wire Actually got a little more than necessary too, once more starting to build a little buffer. Go me!

crossed the 10k line today and still smirking about the weird stuff that comes out of my keyboard. I am definately writing a so called 'Shitty first draft' atm, that will have me lots of rework to do in December lol

Should have been at the 10k mark Saturday night but got a curveball (idiom) thrown into my plan Saturday that hogged two hours and wiped me out (idiom) Saturday afternoon. Trying to spend the night fixing the mess that made of everything. Yes ending up having to do a major overnighter. On 7,510 need to get to 10,002 before I fall asleep. Meaning 2,492 words are needed.

I'll fail my goal today, GF is back home and I just cannot get any time off to concentrate on my story.

Back on track, I hope got up to 11,679 words now. Going to try and push ahead a little later so there is a buffer.

Got a short note info this morning that my roommate and me get our booster (third) shots today, so I thought better to write my daily ahead (in case I sleep again for a whole day like it happened with the second vaccination lol) and I managed to. Perhaps I should do that furthermore, gives so much more time for the rest of the day

She was gone (went to her parents) for about 4 weeks following being laid off for rather sketchy reasons by her employer (you don't fire a single person out of 180 for economical reasons unless it happens to be the big boss themselves, who usually get the biggest salaries, and the workers' council also disagreed on the layoff, in an industry that desperately needs engineers), so there was a lot to talk about. We think the big boss might have figured out that she tried to get pregnant (being gone every month for a few days is probably somewhat of a give-a-way in that regard) so of course she sued him. If he really wants to let her go, he needs to fork over some cash.

Now someone work that sort of story into their novel, please

So this mean it is your own decision not to take the time to write? Don't blame it on her then! (it just sounded as if :p)
But do I understand it right that her employer wants to but has not fired her yet cus he couldn't due to our employment law in Germany? Laid off = freigestellt? Can he even do that without reason? Cus pregnancy or thinking someone wants to get pregnant is not only no reason to frie someone but also not allowed as reason if I remember right.

Laid off = gave her the 3-months-notice = Kündigung.
And no, he can't, which is why she sued him He probably assumed she'd just take it and scamper off if he just made himself "big" enough like a frilled lizard ... But he underestimates her!

Back on track! I'm still slightly ahead, it says at the current pace I'd be finished 3 days before the end of November

I was hoping I'd have time to write yesterday, but the day was too full after all. When I finally had time to write, I was just dead tired, and it was no good. Today I managed to catch up though, and even got myself a little 1,2k buffer! I do hope I can manage to keep building on that this time, rather than immediately falling behind yet again
