Got over 30k early Monday morning before heading to bed. Need to do some writing tonight hopefully no more distractions/interruptions.

I have a genre question.
So my main protagonist suddenly finds themselves in space, specifically on a space station - does that make my story a science fiction story? I don't think I got enough science going, there's more for the fiction part
(notepad++ started freezing on me, I think I reached a filesize limit for its handling capabilities
)

Congrats on 30k, Dragongirl!
I'm inclined to agree with you, Flederfalle. If it's just that they're on a space station (and even "suddenly finds themselves there", so they haven't been there all the time?), then it doesn't quite sound like science fiction to me

For me scifi is in there as soon as there is space stuff involved, just not pure. it becomes a mixed genre, like f. e. sci-fa (science-fantasy)
But if they just hop on and off that station and there are no other space-y things happening, maybe you can ignore that it is there
Or let them hop to another place instead - middle of the planet, castle in the sky X

My goal was to reach 50k on Friday, but then I actually managed to write a bit over 800 words yesterday (when I thought I'd manage nothing at all, my schedule was too full), and I wrote 1k more than expected today as well. Now I'm thinking I might actually get to the grand 50k tomorrow instead, if I (for once
) manage to not dawdle too much. I'll have to try, anyway!

Wohoo, well done, Flederfalle!
With cold, uncooperative fingers, and no motivation at all, I have now also dragged myself across the 50k line!

And I'm not even finished yet! In the beginning, I thought I might not have enough material for 50k
