Yeah youโll probably enjoy nutella Aleah. My favorite jelly is raspberry. Though I also like occasional marmalade (though I think thatโs mostly because it reminds me of a bear called paddington)

Nutella is mostly flavoured palm fat and sugar but I'm lucky enough to be able to afford cocoa spreads with more hazelnut and cocoa butter content - those are usually more expensive.
Ferrero Rocher is actually a type of confectionery - mouth-sized bits of chocolate, hazelnut and joy!
Of course they'd try to fit that flavour into a spread, too!
Those jellies aren't available here so easily. Apple jelly yes, but grape jelly not so much, which is sad. I liked them when I was on vacation in the US, some years ago, even though the hotel version probably fails all comparisons with the jelly people actually eat at home, I presume.
So. What is it that makes Americans go for peanut butter so much? You people's desire for that stuff is kinda legendary here!

As an actual food, mostly I enjoy having it around for its calorie density. I have a hard time motivating myself to eat sometimes so if I smother bread in peanut butter that helps fix my food intake with incredibly minimal effort or dishes. Outside of keeping it around for that and occasionally pairing with either bannas or apples I donโt eat it much. I also prefer the more organic stuff thatโs pretty much just pureed peanuts. (Probably for the same reason you enjoy the nicer hazelnut nut spreads)
Iโm not sure Iโve ever tried apple jelly. Sounds nice though. I think my only experience with marmalade may be the little hotel jellies on toast
so Iโm not too critical of the hotel jellies

The worst kind of hotel "breakfast" I ever had was in the Phoenix area. Granted, it was cheap ...
Low-carb toast.
Sugarfree jelly.
Low-fat milk.
Caffeinfree coffee.
Everything on wobbly plastic dishes, and with plastic "knives" that broke when spreading the jelly.
I was starving less than half an hour later ...

I'd love to do more organic and natural flavors but its stupidly expensive to try to do that here.
We've been trying to switch some of the smaller item towards a more healthy alternative but my dad fights us the whole way.
I've had marmalade once I believe. It was good I really enjoyed it but we almost never get anything other then grape of strawberry because of my dad. Cue eye roll.

My mom was like that, she fought against her diabetes from the day she was diagnosed.

It's probably hard on him, having medical issues that mean other people need to take care of him. He's probably trying to keep as much control as he can over his life.

It's not doing him any good to not let us take care of him though

I know. But we all want to be able to control our lives, letting go of that control is really hard.

My mom went through an identity crisis after my dad died. She was no longer a wife, a caregiver, and because we were all grown, we didn't *need* her anymore. She needed to find a new identity that was just for herself, that wasn't attached to those roles anymore. It was a really tough situation for her.

Kijo
I can understand that but my dad hasn't lost anyone like that.

I'm sorry I kind of lost my train of thought.
