It's certainly not for everyone.
I think the texture is pretty similar to scrambled eggs when its cooked tbh xD

@Kijo some times it matters what kinds of foods you grew up with too. My dad was a regular meat and potatoes kind of guy, we never would have thought to try tofu. I doubt it was even available in our small grocery store.

I’m so grateful to my mother for raising me feeding me carrots and peas and other raw veggies as snack foods instead of chips and cookies. It’s made adult life/generally eating well so much easier. The whole “you have to try at least a bite” rule has definitely helped with food adventurousness too. And I love me some cookies. But I also love fresh fruit and nuts etc

@starlitmeadows my mom stayed at home with us, and she was always baking something!

I love veggies, and I will try just about anything once! My mom, however, is REALLY picky so while I'd try it.... I haven't had much chance to try anything too adventurous. My aunt isn't quite so picky, so while my mom hates shrimp ... I have gotten to try it as well as a few other things that my mom would never of had for me to try. I hate trying things when they may go to waste... so I like to have someone there that will eat it if I don't like it... or try it off their plate so I know next time if I'd eat it or not. :3

I love most veggies, especially mushrooms! I haven't made it in a long time, but I love to make roasted veggies in the oven with Penzey's Sunny Paris seasoning.

@Aleah we didn't grow up with tofu either
My mom made a lot of heavy and hearty foods
But we did have several Japanese exchange students who might have had us try it several times when they cooked for us.
I can't quite remember that far back and some of it is patchy.

I like veggies, I like mostly poultry and fish.
If i could I'd live off Asian food for the rest of my life

I know my son Nick has a Korean friend who was an exchange student here for awhile. Dongyun made Korean bbq and Nick was hooked lol. It's cool that you had exchange students!!

Good Morning everyone! Today in the US it's Memorial Day, the day we honor our war dead. It's also traditionally a party day and the kickoff to Summer. Does anyone have any plans for today?

Stay at home and do the same thing as usual tbh xD

Does the battle against cancer count as well? My mother died exactly a year ago ... So mostly I'm trying to avoid thinking about that but it keeps coming back.

That’s difficult. Sorry flederdalle. A coworker recently experienced her first mothers day after losing her mom and apparently only me and another person remembered to check on her.


For memorial day I just had a group meeting (our boss forgot it was memorial day and then sent a “so I messed up and this meeting should have been cancelled, I’ll be there at the usual time if you want to meet anyways otherwise we’ll talk tomorrow”

Yeah, that first mother's day also happened to be my brother's birthday this year, and due to Corona-related restrictions, we couldn't even meet and support each other.
This year is so crazy!
