Somehow, I kind of expected something like that.

I finished putting together a big kitty doll. Now I just need to sometime make her a magic girl outfit, make a little book with her story in it, and then set her on the dollies for gifting or selling shelf. Oh, and bribe someone to make her a face or woman up and try to do it myself.

I really like how she turned out, though I'm not totally sure that I sewed her legs on evenly. She rested in the craft bin today while I worked on making a dress for a doll that I bought for a friend.

Now the Widget's daycare has forced him - and him alone - to wear a T-shirt over his swim trunks for Water Play Day. Other boys could wear shirts if they wanted to but weren't required to; only the Widget was required to. Daddy went full Papa Bear when he heard that...

Good news is, I took him to the local splash park yesterday, and he wore swim trunks with no shirt and had a grand old time and no one gave him even a whiff of crap over it.

...As a GIRL I used to swim in only my boonies. It's not like little people look any different at all at that age.

I wound up slightly disoriented and very freaked out yesterday, so I spent the night in an ER waiting room and then passed out in the nice air conditioned coolness of an ER bed. It was quieter than the apartment, and a heck of a lot cooler, and being able to sleep actually clothed, covered with a blanket, and hug dolls got me reset. There's just the faintest memory of headache now, and still some hip pain and cramping from the period that won't die. I think the doctor, when he finally managed to get to me, was surprised by how deeply I was sleeping there, but my family used to spend a lot of time on the road when I was a kid. Sometimes I sleep in a new, strange bed better than my own, and that ER bed was right up my alley- narrow and hard.

The director of Mister Sir's daycare received Daddy's letter about the swim trunks debacle, and by the end of the day their parental notice system had changed to reflect his preferred name and we had an appointment set up to talk to the director in person.
