I feel for your cousins and gas prices. My son was going to drive out for Christmas from Texas but instead opted to fly.

Yeah, I almost think it would be cheaper to fly or at least not much more expensive depending on when they are flying. The gas prices are nuts and just ugh... LOL I just filled my car up this morning and it cost over $40! >_< That's nearly a days pay just to drive back and forth to work for a week!
Anywho, my birthday is almost here! Less than 2 weeks. I can't believe it's already almost Dec.... this year went quick!

I love playing cards. My Aunt introduced us to a game called Skip-Bo. Not as fast paced as Uno, but better than Bridge because you can play with any number of players.
Our neighbor gave us a box of chocolates for the holiday. She had to apologize for how poorly it was wrapped. The girl at the counter had never wrapped a box before. It was almost funny how smashed up the paper was. At least it had a nice ribbon and bow. (And the chocolates are delicious.)

We play a game very similar to Skip-Bo. It's with regular card decks, and is called Devil's Hole. 
I don't remember all the rules of Skip-Bo, but the main thing in both is getting rid of your "stockpile". You have more to get rid of in Devil's Hole. 20 cards per person no matter how many play.
How can you have never wrapped a box before?! LOL That's the easiest thing to wrap! Anyway, that's sweet of your neighbor!

I have a project this weekend that involves a ladder too! We can be ladder buddies! I have to get up on one just to get the windchimes down outside.... tho I MAY try to do it without.... with mom's grabby arm thingie. She's short so she needs it for anything above the bottom shelf.
I also did Christmassy things since I got home. We brought all our boxes that we had in the shed (nearly 15) of Christmas stuff, and I went through it. We put up our tree (haven't had one up in over 5 years now), and I made 2 mini trees! I didn't think they were gonna look as good as they do. I REALLY like them. :3 Giving one to my aunt (mom's sister that lives here) and one to my uncle (one of my mom's brothers that lives here...(she has 4 bothers) he just recently moved back home from California). I now want to make one for myself... and one for my driver... and and and.. We'll see if it happens tho.
So the red/gold tree doesn't have a topper cuz I couldn't find any around the house... I'm not normally a gold or red fan (I have red hair so why would I like red!!), but my aunt's fave color is red. The other one has a ribbon topper that we had. It totally completes it with the topper. *nods*

Your tree is beautiful, and those mini-trees are cute as hell. But something like that wouldn't last one night with our cat. She loves those things also.

The mini trees were fun to make. :3 LOL That's one good thing about my dogs they don't mess with stuff like that. However, when I brought the tree in (it was already together) Abby was like wtf and was burfing (soft bark) at me. Haven't had a tree up since we have had them.

Yes, very much! Been working on a lot of stuff outside the house. We had some damage from some storms so we got a new roof and back door. Once the door was in we had to paint round the door cuz he had to move the trim in a ways and behind that trim was this obnoxious color.
Then outside, I power washed the north side of the house (ya know where all the moss/algae grows), power washed the deck (for the same reason cuz it's mostly on that side), pulled lots of weeds, planted flowers, changed a flower bed into a rock bed cuz I was so sick of all the weeds. Oh yes, I painted lots of things too. Now it's getting rather hot outside so I have to pick days that isn't so bad to do things out there. The only thing left is to reclean the deck and then replace some boards and stain/protect it which may have to wait til fall.
I had planned to make a bench out of this pallet a friend gave us and an old headboard, but when they did our roof they left us TWO more pallets, and got another when we got the gravel. That means I now have 4 pallets and a headboard, so I'm stoked to see how that comes out and if I'll even be able to do it. *shrugs* Didn't cost us anything so if I mess it up, no loss.
