I know this too, although half the time it's my work getting fixed.
With the cottonwood and the extra work still to do, makes sense to wait on the stain. And now it becomes a new "fun" project to look forward to later.
Back to work. My assistant had to take off 3 days this week for a "minor" thing that sent here to the hospital?
WHAT? What "minor" thing sends you to the hospital for 3 days to observe? Anyway, doing the work of three, since she usually does the work of two.

LOL, Thanks @FireLilly! That post took FOREVER to make, I hadn't realized how many pics I had shared and stuff. I'm so excited to have all that stuff done. 
Still have to replace some planks on our deck and stain it, but I have gotten a lot done!

Wow! You have been busy. I love those yellow butterflies. So cute. And the Dragon looks like something they sell at conventions. Very nice.
Were the dogs much help in stripping the patio. They look more like management. The before picture looks awful. You did a great job in the power washing. Are you adding any sort of deck sealer? Some of them are really easy to use with a roller.
I have been very busy at work. Insurance and deadlines go hand-in-hand. I leave home early and get back right before dinner, and still don't get everything done. But physical labor is much more satisfying. I put up a new water border around our large avocado tree. Since it is a desert in San Diego, if you put a solid border around the trees, you can flood that area so the trees get deep watered. Otherwise the water doesn't go down more than a couple of inches. So the new border required that I "cut" down the existing dirt by several inches, which my back complained about the next day.
Upcoming, my son bought a house in Texas. He's coming home in a few weeks to pick up some personal items and we'll rent a car to get them over to his new home. It will be nice to spend some time with him, but he has to be back at work the day after we return, so in total it will only be about 5 days. Much too short. (Especially with 2 of those days will be driving.)

LOL, no the girls weren't, but at least they did stay out of the way.

And now (at least for a few days it's going to be too hot to do it.) Oh, I totally understand the back complaining. Doing that gravel... my whole body complained. LOL My mom was out there to help, but she couldn't lift the bags at all. My friend had a minor procedure done and ended up in the hospital for nearly 2 weeks after. >_< Her body rejected the procedure and made things worse. She ended up on a liquid diet for over a month.

Liquid diet sounds terrible to me. When I was in college a friend broke his jaw and had to have everything put in a blender because they wired his jaw shut. The look on his face when we took him out for a real meal should have been put on a poster. He was so happy.
Next weekend I'll be in Texas. Temperate will be well over 100. I'm looking forward to seeing my son, but, I don't know. 100 degrees?

Yeah, I can imagine. My friend didn't follow direction very well because she just couldn't eat just liquid and take her medicine.... so she just ate through the pain. >_< LOL I'm sure when (if?) the pain goes away she'll be just as happy as your friend was.
Hopefully it won't be that hot? Tho, it's Texas... so I doubt my hope will do you any good.

*dusts things off*
So just before summer we painted 2 walls in our living room and a wall down the hallway white. It was a yucky cream color (looked like it had been white and just got dirty that's how yucky it looked). The other wall in the hall and the other wall and a half in the living room, we'd painted brown when we moved in. It was actually about 3 different colors mixed together so we'd never be able to match it if we wanted to. Well, last week Mom started painting the half wall (it's under the counter, bar area from the kitchen) white while I was at my all day meeting. I got home and ended up finishing it and she hadn't even had half of it done. Today while I napped during my break she started on the living room wall, didn't even have half of it done by time I got up, went to work, and came back home.... guess who finished the first coat??? ME! LOL It's probably going to take 3 coats to fully cover the brown. >_< But it is going to make it look soooo much better in here. Prolly have to buy another gallon to go down the wall in the hallway since we're having to do 3 coats.

I'm now glad that tomorrow is Friday! Have plans to play games Sat with a friend, so that's fun! I'm also trying to hurry and get a key chain finished by next weekend for my aunt that's coming in town next weekend. Not even half way done. OY! LOL
