Man, it's so hot here, and will be for a week. And we're not rigged for hot. AC is not a common thing in homes even yet, I don't think. I'm sitting here with a wet hankie on my head. If I want a bagel warmed up all I have to do is take it out of the fridge and set it on the counter.

my nano idea? nah, something about a group of people working undercover to discover something (?) but the leader of this group is also working for the people the group is investigating..... it's a plot in progress. needs lots of ironing out.

I spent most of my waking hours thus far today crocheting another mushroom. This one's a chanterelle, but there were no arms on the design, so I added them. I'm praying I have enough yarn for what I need now.

i might world-build somewhere completely new, like tam's suggestion too. I'll see what my weird brain comes up with - if it doesn't get stuck first

I finished the chanterelle! Her arms are a little too far to the front, but I think she's alright otherwise. And there was just maybe one yard of yarn left when I was done, if that. I better bond with this shroomie, because if I don't I'll never see that rare vintage yarn that enjoy the feel of again.

I visited the farmers market, got the shopping done, gave myself a tummy ache eating some fruit, and chattered and chattered and chattered. Also made one of the vendors stop and look doubtful, then double take at seeing me with nudie face. I had the mask off because the humidity was making the asthma act up.

basically, i'm wearing my mask in places where there's a LOT of people inside (like the convenience store at lunchtime or the grocery store when I go shopping); or I'm there for quite a while while there's lots of different people - like when I work for 4 or 5 hours at my retail job. BUT it strange to see people you've worked with without a mask now - some of my retail job coworkers don't wear a mask now, and my brain has to readjust. some of my coworkers i first met while we were wearing masks!

Would anyone here be interested in a cute little grandson? I stg if my parents don't start calling him "he" soon they're gonna find themselves short one. Not interested in forcing my kid to spend unnecessary time with people who constantly misgender him.

@tired He's my son, not my grandson, but none of his biological grandparents are being supportive. Still deadnaming him and buying him girl clothes and all. The spousal unit and I are Not Down For This.

@trystan , yeah, I put my mask on if people who came to where I work on Saturday were wearing theirs, or if I had to get close to them. And I still wear mine in the common areas of this apartment building. I still carry around hand sanitizer and use it compulsively! I'll probably still wear my mask to the mall and grocery store, too.

I've noticed something funny, looking in the mirror this morning. My smile has changed since I saw it a lot last. It's still higher on one side most the time, but it's smaller. I think it looks more like a real smile. It also shows a lot more in my eyes, because of all the time that the eyes were the only part to smile with.
