Thankfully, it's a pattern I enjoy making, even though the gills are still giving me small fits.

No pictures yet, but today I finished making a corset style turtleneck backless sweater for one of my dolls who is into a candy goth + punk type look. Now I'm sitting here in front of the fan, wearing a shirt damp from the washer.

i'm working on a rainbow blanket for me, it's slow-going at this point because - since it's worked from the inside out, each set of rows is larger than the previous one... and I'm up to the blue - I have two sets of rows for the blue, then three sets for the purple. but it's slow going because I'm on the tedious row right now! i think I might take part in the Ravellenics Games this year too, I have a pair of socks I want to make, as well as a tunic, and those will count. there's an outside chance I could get this blanket finished before the end of the Games.... maybe. i'll have to see where I am with it when the Games begin.

Oh wow. That pattern would probably give me fits. I haven't tried granny square type stuff in years, but back then I could never get them to lay flat. ...I guess I should try again sometime?

and yeah, it doesn't hurt to try a granny square thing again. if it doesn't lay flat, you can always undo it and either try again, or use the yarn for something else

This is true. This morning I was making cat legs. I've come to the conclusion that the yarn included in kits is often substandard. Not bad, just not the best.

I have the two Star Wars amigurumi books that come with yarn to make one (maybe two?) of the patterns in the book, and I just haven't made those patterns with the yarn included. maybe one of these days I will but, I don't know what the quality of the yarn is, since I haven't used it yet. ah,well....

I think that's the same brand as my cactus kit. That yarn was pretty good, though really thin. But the hook was the right size for it. But yeah. They always seem to come with really thin and sometimes uneven yarn.

I'll only knit someone else a scarf if they want to pay me by the hour (overtime since I already work 40) plus the cost of the yarn... i don't expect to have any takers

i've crocheted scarves for others as gifts. but I have made dolls and other small items for people if they paid me. thing is, I don't always like making the same thing over. i learned that early on when i made many of the same tedious dragon pattern o_O

I don't like doing the same thing over and over in general... it gets boring, so I like to do a bit of everything. I made some bleach tie-dye shirts yesterday!

Burned out on dragons. That has a play on words to it that amuses me, even though I know having to make the same thing over and over is no fun in the least. Unless you're making pot scrubbies with Scrub Off yarn. I'm not tired of that yet. Too many variations in the yarn. LOL
