I hate J. K. Rowling. I mean, I despised her before my son came out, but now, as a parent of a trans kid, my hatred has become deep and personal. You literally can't enjoy the art and condemn the artist in her case because she won't Goddamn let you. There are plenty of other authors and artists out there who have bigoted views, but none that I can think of who have so clearly stated, in public, "If you enjoy my work it means you support my bigotry!"

I'm feeling kind of fried. There was construction in the building today, and also the one neighbour is on a bender and was just ROARING his movie or video game, so loudly that the radiator was echoing with it. Also slamming his patio door so loudly I could feel it, and yelling the F bomb. Regular neighbour was also raving as usual across the hall. I wish I wasn't such a twitchy glitch. The noise can't hurt me!

@Tam_I_am When she was pitching fits about fan pages, I was okay just ignoring her. But now that she's actively working to make the world a worse place for my son to live in, and there's still millions of people saying "Oh, I don't agree with her politics but I still love her works" when she's on the record as saying "everyone who enjoys my works agrees with my politics and that makes us the majority so we have to pass laws to protect ourselves from the t******s"...it's hard to ignore.

This from the woman who declared one of her main characters to be gay... but wait. That was probably just to spite people. Ugh. *hug* Yeah, I'm staying the bleep away from her scrap. Never liked her little gary stu lead main character anyway.

i do have the HP books on my list of books to be reread .... but because I want to read them with eye towards what we've learned since the books came out. I'm usually bad at picking up on things like that, but I have an idea of what to be on the lookout for.

Worked from ten to eight yesterday, travelling on skate rink icy sidewalks and hanging out at a big Christmas craft sale. Wound up with sudden extreme sensory overload around eight, and had to go home. I still feel like scrap in the compactor. But tomorrow is Saturday, and that's early day at work, where I'll have to be cleaning up after a break in where someone socked a hole in the market window and grabbed a handful of our expensive hand painted earrings... and didn't even take full pairs.

my weekends are quite busy as I work at a big-box craft store, and it's really busy now... ugh.

They were just grabbing what they could reach, @trystan.

And then another vendor got extremely catty at me on Saturday because she felt I was being mean to her and typecasting her. And then she proceeded to call me a liar and verbally tear at all the places I hurt inside (I'm okay now). So now my employer is up and arms and very vindictive. *keels over*

Thanks for the hugs. I really need 'em right now. It is a SKATING RINK outside. I couldn't even get to the bus stop from my front doorstep! (I couldn't get down the steps of the front doorstep!) I had to be rescued and helped across ice four times, and got given a ride downtown. I couldn't stay home because I really needed the chiropractor visit and some of the things I bought, but I didn't manage to make it to the grocery store because by the time I got to the print shop I was done. So done. I might have to tell my employer that I can't go to the special Christmas market with her tomorrow, even though I badly want to go.

It was flipping RAINING here after it'd snowed, and during a freeze. This is nuts. If I wanted to live in this kind of weather I'd live in Quebec.

Assembled a very complex paper doll today. It was nearly the only thing I got done other than a little sweeping, one meal cooked, and a LOT of sleeping. Stabbed myself under the fingernail with a split pin brad while doing the assembly. I'll see if I can get a picture and share it sometime if y'all are interested.

Ahhh. We generally get our first (slushy) snow on hollowbean. This year it was late.
