So...my brother - the one who hasn't vaccinated his kids - called nice and early this morning to say that he's lost his sense of smell and had a positive at-home COVID test. My immediate family and I promptly backed out of Thanksgiving. My parents decided to go ahead anyway. They were supposed to babysit His Little Highness this weekend so I could work and my husband could attend his monthly LARP. Guess what else isn't happening this weekend now?

yeah.... that would make sense.
on the other hand, I would tell someone "told ya so" if it applied.

So work was good! People were kind and supportive, and I even managed to make fairly good sales that Saturday. One lady even came back and bought some of the items from the section that I'd recommended for her. And a little girl under twelve years old looked at the whole market, and then came looking for me after I'd closed up, because she wanted to buy one of the shroom dolls that my employer lets me sell on the side. Oh, and there were two offers of helping me close up, and I had two different offers of a ride home so I didn't need to walk on the ice!

...Yesterday I had bad dreams about walking on ice, though. Hugging a doll made 'em go away. I think that's the only time I remember gasping out loud as I jerked awake.

The city of Edmonton is now buried under snow. I'm starting to suspect that the city thinks it's on the East coast.

Me too, and I'm really glad for the doll fix, too. *shakes my head* Today I went walking to do errands, through a 30 below Celsius (or nearly there) snowstorm to do errands. Conditions not too bad, but I managed to find the ONE small patch of ice on an otherwise clean sidewalk and gave myself a fright.

It was really an amazing and reassuring thing. I'm prone to dreams where I get hurt, and no one notices or cares or helps me, so this kind of blows my mind.

LMBO. It's FREEZING. I always feel a little spooked when I see the lights around the sun or moon, (especially when I see them in summer, because summer means a REALLY bad storm).

My son's coming to visit for 2 weeks. It will be nice to have him around for a few weeks.

i've noticed a lot of the really awesome celestial events that I end up seeing are when it's a clear night outside, and really really @#$%^& COLD. during the summer the sky is still too hazy even if the sky is "clear"

at my michael's we sell Ott lights that are supposed to give really good light. the only thing I really do know about them is that they're expensive though.

I've never heard of those lights. I wonder if they'd work in this ceiling lamp. I'm not allowed to put anything above fifty watt in it.

And yeah. Clear skies usually mean freeze off needed things weather. LOL!

pretty sure their bulbs are replacements only for their lamps. I've never used one, but they're supposed to be really good.
