ah, Spirit Halloween. we have those around me. they pop up earlier and earlier each year. used to be around my birthday - the end of August. now it's like July.

Apparently sometimes Wal-Marts have a six foot Jack who hangs up, and who has a pretty good face, too. His legs are just limp, with stuffed felt feet. But he'd probably be cheaper than the animatronic guys, and you could sneak a hug in sometimes.

I bought a crochet pattern book awhile back called "Too Cute Crochet". It's garbage. I tried two patterns, and one was a fiddly nightmare, and the other didn't work. I'm a skilled crocheter, so I could have fixed it, but you aren't supposed to need to fix patterns, and this was sold as something for beginners!

one of my nephews LOVES Paw Patrol, so i bought a crohet pattern on rav for one of the characters, and there were so many things wrong with it! i messaged the designer. there were typos, omissions, numbers were off.... it was like she wrote the pattern and then didn't have it tested... she told me "None of my clients have had so many problems with this pattern. Unfortunately I cannot make a return, since you already have a copy of the pattern." yeesh. i documented it all in my pattern notes, and i made this the first thing people see if they go to my project page: "THIS IS AN ADVANCED PATTERN that assumes you know things about amigurumi.
Be cautious when paying for patterns from this designer - no refunds are given once the pattern is downloaded."
i didn't get it to look like the designer's item, i have no idea WHAT she did, but it wasn't reflected in the pattern.
